the Treasury to pay the other half of any loss incurred in

respect of this Agency was also, as stated in Your Lord-

8 ship's despatch No. 177 of the 6th. August, 1908, only for

the year beginning on the 10th. of October, 1908 and has

now expired.

In these circumstances I shall be

glad to learn in what manner Your Lordship proposes that

any loss incurred by this Colony on account of the Tientsin

Postal Agency for the year beginning on the 10th. of October,

1909, is to be met, Since this Agency was only experimentally

instituted and stands on a different footing from the others

half the cost of which the Treasury has undertaken to bear.
